Danish newspapers

Unfortunately, we can no longer meet orders for printed newspapers from our collections.

The library’s newspaper collection includes all newspapers published in Denmark since 1634 with one exception: local community papers published outside Copenhagen 1948-1971. Such papers are found at the National Newspaper Collection of Royal Danish Library, Aarhus.

Newspapers published in Greenland and the Faroe Islands:
These are all registered in REX as regular periodicals (not as newspapers),

How to find items in Danish newspapers:
A list of indices and online texts is found in an online bibliography (in Danish):
Indekser og fuldtekstbaser - en online-bibliografi

Some microfilms are available at Reading Room East. The holdings comprise microfilms of newspapers from Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. There is also access to digitised newspapers through our online service Mediestream.
