The exhibition 101 Danish Poets – a Flight in Pen and Inkpot offers an overview of the many expressions on the Danish literary scene right now.
101 Danish poets have been set the same task: write by hand and in black ink on white paper a new text and enclose a black-and-white portrait of your own choice.
These works offer a unique insight into the individual poet’s distinctive universe and self-presentation thanks to the characteris¬tics of their handwriting, the form and content of their text as well as the depiction in their portrait.
The texts and portraits are presented together with a number of handwritten manuscripts, selected from The Royal Library’s collections by poet Peter Laugesen.
The exhibition is a spatially staged tribute to handwriting and poetry, created in collaboration between the Royal Library and the experimental and cross artistic magazine Victor B. Andersens Maskinfabrik represented by painter and sculptor Kenn André Stilling and editor Helle Marie Rafn. The basis of the exhibition is the book 101 Danish Poets – a People’s Book (Publishing House Victor B. Andersens Maskinfabrik, May 2014).
